Employment Status Employment Status Full Time Department Department Administration Job Summary The incumbent leads and coordinates all aspects of a comprehensive and service-based compliance and student athletic services program/department. Knowledge Skills and Abilities Knowledge for relevant higher education laws, including FERPA , Title IX, and Clery Act Knowledge of NCAA Bylaws, especially Bylaws 13, 14, 15, and 17 Knowledge of the retention process Proficient of computer skills, especially Microsoft Office Suite Proficiency in social media as a communication tool Excellent communication skills, verbal, written, and interpersonal Excellent teaching, organizational and time management skills Excellent supervisory skills Ability to work independently, with very limited supervision Ability to make decisions based on factual evidence and observation Ability to use multiple techniques to help students develop study, learning and testing skills Ability to work with students who are dealing with various learning difficulties Ability to intervene when students are fall behind their peers academically Ability to prioritize assignments Ability to work cooperatively within a team environment Essential Job Functions Coordinates, conducts and maintains a comprehensive recruiting monitoring system Reviews and approve all coach reimbursement requests and financial documents from the business office Researches, prepares and presents rules interpretations for coaches, staff, student athletes and the general public Coordinates academic services for student athletes Monitors class schedules, grades and student athlete academic progress toward degree Works with student athletes, coaches, Office of Student Records on all add/drop requests Maintains accurate and complete student athlete and departmental files, including a Compliance manual Monitors and manages continuing eligibility/satisfactory progress in regards to academic compliance with University, SWAC and NCAA rules Provides sports supervision for assigned sports Other related duties as assigned Qualifications Master’s degree in student services, counseling, education, social work or related field Two years experience in NCAA Division 1 Athletic Compliance Licensing and Certifications N/A Physical Requirements Work in noisy (above 85 decibels) areas Sedentary Work - Exerting 10 pounds Occasionally Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds Occasionally Very Heavy Work - Exerting in excess of 100 pounds Travel Travel Occasionally Extended Work Hours Extended Work Hours Occasionally Posting Number Posting Number S1150 Number of Vacancies Number of Vacancies 1 Location Location Lorman Position End Date (if temporary) Open Date Open Date 08/21/2025 Close Date Open Until Filled No EEO Statement Alcorn State University Equal Employment Opportunity and Notice of Non-Discrimination Alcorn State University is an affirmative action and equal opportunity employer.
