At Business Launchpad (BLP), we empower young people aged 18–30 from low‑income backgrounds across London to pursue enterprising careers and achieve financial progress. We do this through tailored enterprise programmes, one‑to‑one coaching, and real‑world employability experiences that build both business and life skills. What makes our work truly unique is the environment that supports it. Our social enterprise, Tooting Works, powers this vision and offers inclusive workspaces, vital infrastructure, and a thriving community hub. Profits from its affordable office and co‑working spaces are reinvested directly into our charitable work – meaning every space rented helps fund opportunities for the young people we support. Together, Business Launchpad and Tooting Works form a dynamic ecosystem where enterprise, innovation, and social purpose thrive. The Role We are looking for an experienced and motivated Business Coach to provide one‑to‑one support to young people (aged 18–30) who are NEET (not in employment, education or training) or from low‑income backgrounds who are starting or developing a business or social enterprise. You will work with clients to offer high‑quality, tailored business coaching that helps them build confidence, overcome barriers, and progress towards their goals. Facilitate group programme sessions on business development topics. We particularly welcome applications from individuals with lived experience of overcoming barriers in business or life. Key Responsibilities One‑to‑One Business Coaching Provide high‑quality one‑to‑one business support to clients, helping them progress towards achieving business results by offering relevant information, advice, and guidance to overcome barriers and start their own business or social enterprise. Offer practical advice, guidance, and accountability to help clients progress in their business journey or employability skills. Log session notes, progress, and outcomes using Business Launchpad’s CRM system (Salesforce). Liaise with the programme team to support client referrals, track impact, and flag safeguarding concerns where necessary. Keep up to date with relevant knowledge in business start‑up, enterprise support, and youth development. Attend a weekly team meeting with the Head of Programmes & Delivery to share updates, raise concerns, and stay aligned with programme goals. Offer basic employability guidance where appropriate – supporting young people to explore career options alongside entrepreneurship, and signposting to resources for CVs, interview prep, or job applications. Contribute to the development and review of client support materials. Evaluate and report client progress to the Head of Programme & Delivery to enhance service quality and expand support services as required. Facilitation and Delivery Design and deliver engaging, interactive masterclasses focused on core business and employability skills (e.g., communication, teamwork, problem‑solving, professional mindset, entrepreneurship basics, and interview preparation). Create an inclusive and supportive learning environment that encourages participation and confidence‑building. Adapt facilitation style and content to meet the needs, abilities, and learning preferences of diverse participants. Use real‑world examples, practical exercises, and group discussions to reinforce learning outcomes. Support in the organisation and delivery of in‑person events. Curriculum and Session Design Plan sessions that align with Business Launchpad’s programme outcomes and participant development goals. Develop and update facilitation materials, slides, and activities to ensure sessions are relevant and accessible. Incorporate feedback from participants and staff to continuously improve content and delivery. Collaboration and Communication Work closely with the Programmes Team to align session delivery with the wider programme structure and objectives. Attend briefing and debrief meetings as required to ensure consistent quality and alignment across facilitators. Quality and Impact Ensure sessions are delivered to a high standard, maintaining professionalism, punctuality, and preparedness. Collect participant feedback and contribute to programme evaluation and impact measurement. Safeguarding Responsibilities Ensure that all young entrepreneurs engaging with Business Launchpad are supported in a safe and inclusive environment. Follow safeguarding policies and procedures, identifying and reporting any concerns regarding the welfare of clients to the designated safeguarding lead. Recognise signs of vulnerability and take appropriate action to safeguard young entrepreneurs. Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of safeguarding legislation and best practices, attending regular training as required. Promote a culture of trust, respect, and confidentiality while maintaining professional boundaries.
