Job Description

The Content Specialist will be responsible for coordinating content and creating finished copy for a variety of member/client-facing materials that will be used by California Dental Association and its subsidiaries. This position will curate, edit and write content in alignment with CDA's overall brand and marketing objectives. Keen discernment is required in this position so the individual may advocate for and produce quality content and best user experiences.

Responsibilities and Key Objectives
  • Works on editing/writing projects individually, as well as collaborates on
  • complex projects with copywriter, creative director, and internal clients
  • Excels at applying CDA and subsidiary brand voices across projects and media
  • Edits and writes copy, establishes tone and ensures it is impeccable and consistent
  • Collaborates with team to achieve objectives through effective content strategies
  • Works on multiple projects simultaneously and has excellent organizational skills
  • Manages deadlines and prioritizes work in an efficient manner
  • Edits and writes additional print and online content as needed and assigned
Skills & Requirements


Bachelor's degree in Communications or Marketing or English, minimum 5 years of professional writing and editing experience, preferably in insurance, healthcare, banking and/or B2B marketing.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • A solid foundation in communications, marketing and branding
  • Outstanding command of the English language
  • The ability to clearly articulate ideas and champion best practices
  • Proficiency in proofing for spelling, grammar and consistency in content
  • Experience applying AP Stylebook and house style guides
  • Experience in a variety of print and online content and business communications
  • Team oriented, collaborative in nature and accepting of constructive feedback
  • Ability to evaluate which concepts are valid and which are not worth pursuing
  • Knowledge of and skills using word processing and presentation software
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously and balance workloads
