Description: Beautiful Skokie Country Club located in Glencoe, IL has openings for a seasonal hostess in our Main Clubhouse. The location of many of the Clubs dining venues, the Clubhouse features the Skokie Room, an upscale casual dining room, as well as the Ross Bar which is a lounge/dining area. While experience is desired, we are willing to train the right candidate.

Job Summary: Host/Hostess are responsible for taking care of the members and guests whenever they are on the property. They represent the club every time they step on property and should act with a sense of responsibility to make sure that members expectations are being exceeded.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Receives and greets members and guests.
Answers podiums phone and manages the reservation system.
Makes floor plans & Seating charts.
Suggests and describes various appetizers, entrees, deserts, alcoholic beverages and wine to members and guests.
Takes To-go orders over the phone or in person and prints checks for member signature.
Assists in coordinating food service involving communication between kitchen and service staff.
Immediately involves Management for member/guest complaints and problems.
Assigns waitstaff and busser stations and side work under the direction of the Service Director and Restaurant Managers.
Inspects dining room to ensure proper maintenance of a clean and orderly area.
Assures that pre-opening and closing cleaning tasks are assigned and completed as required.
Inspects dining room and food pick-up areas for sanitation and safety concerns.
Assists with serving food and beverages when needed.
Assists with table clearing and resetting as needed.
Suggests when additional service supplies and small equipment are needed.
Has knowledge of all upcoming golf and club events.
Any and all other duties as assigned by the Restaurant Managers, Service Director and/or General Manager.

Availability: Must be available to work nights, weekends, Club events, and most Holidays

Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age or older
Must have upbeat, outgoing positive attitude
Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to be on your feet for extended periods of time
Must be Food Handler/Basset Certified(we can provide course if needed)
Must possess a true desire to satisfy the needs of members and guests in a fast paced environment
Must have physical stamina to lift moderate amounts of weight up to 35lbs.
Advanced wine and spirits knowledge a plus

Compensation (non-tipping): Competitive hourly rate based on experience
