Job Title: Mechanical Engineer SR 1 Location: Cartersville, GA Pay Range: $45.00/hr - $50.00/hr Employment Type: Contract Seniority Level: Mid-Senior level Industry: Utilities Job Responsibilities: Design mechanical systems for retrofit, environmental, and new generation projects. Lead mechanical design activities including pipe sizing, routing, material selection, pipe support design, valve selection, P&ID development, equipment layout, and hydraulic calculations. Develop datasheets for valves and equipment. Provide technical guidance to designers, develop project scopes, schedules, and budgets. Assist in checkout and startup of systems, making independent decisions when necessary. Required Skills and Qualifications: 10+ years of related experience and an accredited bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. Professional engineer license preferred. Experience with design of power generation or heavy industrial facilities, including detailed piping and equipment design. Proficiency with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements. Experience with P&ID development and review. Knowledge of process equipment, piping systems, valves, pumps, pressure vessels, and heat exchangers. Experience with hydraulic calculations and software like Pipe-Flo is preferred.
