Mechanical Engineer (Part-Time) Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. invites applications for the Mechanical Engineer (Part-Time) role. This position supports mechanical design and construction for government and commercial facilities. Base Pay $35.00/hr – $45.00/hr Location Huntsville, AL Responsibilities Provide mechanical engineering support for HVAC, plumbing, fire suppression, and high‑pressure piping projects. Develop design drawings, specifications, and construction criteria for mechanical systems. Prepare and oversee drawings, specifications, and submittal schedules. Support construction and construction review activities. Collaborate with project cost estimators and design review teams. Assist project managers with construction progress, remodel, and repair projects. Coordinate work under the guidance of the Discipline Design Team Lead. Progress towards becoming a project lead for design disciplines. Engage with government clients, including NASA MSFC facilities. Maintain professional files in an organized manner. Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program. 3+ years of mechanical design experience, including HVAC units, ductwork, plumbing fixtures, piping, and fire suppression. Ability to read and understand construction contract drawings. Working knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel. U.S. citizenship and successful federal background and drug screen.
