The Scheduler performs clerical and communication functions in the department/clinic. She/He schedules patient appointments and provides courteous reception. Responsibilities include answering phones, registering new patients, reviewing referrals, insurance verification, and working with all physicians in the department.

The Scheduler is the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a positive customer service experience. Duties include greeting patients, scheduling appointments, confirming details, and handling patient inquiries.

Essential Duties

• Serve as the main point of contact for patients and families
• Greet and check in patients, schedule appointments
• Confirm appointment details with patients
• Act as an advocate for patients and the health center
• Answer calls professionally and direct as needed
• Maintain electronic worklists and handle patient requests
• Provide benefit and eligibility information
• Follow policies and procedures
• Perform care coordination duties as assigned
• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Understanding of medical terminology
• Ability to interview patients and interact with staff

Preferred Qualifications

• One year of customer service experience, preferably in a medical setting

Required Licenses/Certifications

• Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) within 30 days of hire

The hourly rate range is $17.50 - $27.01. Compensation factors include experience, education, skills, and organizational considerations.
