Student Nurse Intern The North Dakota State Hospital (NDSH), located in Jamestown, is a specialized psychiatric hospital that serves the whole state. Services focus on psychiatric rehabilitation, residential substance use disorders treatment, and residential treatment for sexually dangerous individuals.
As a
Student Nurse Intern , you will gain on-the-job experience by providing patient care and completing nursing assessments for clients of the North Dakota State Hospital.
Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, you will provide and ensure quality nursing care is delivered to NDSH clients. You will relate to clients in a therapeutic manner, communicate pertinent information to staff, complete thorough and timely documentation, and create a safe and therapeutic environment for clients. In addition, you may administer medications under direct RN supervision.
To be considered for the Student Nurse Intern Position you must be actively enrolled in a board approved nursing education program at an in-state nursing program, you must be participating in clinical experiences as part of the educational program for academic credit, and you must have had two semesters or three quarters of student clinical nursing rotations prior to start the position of Student Nurse Intern. The supervised clinical practice of the internship student is based on content from required nursing courses that the student has completed and has received a grade acceptable for progression in the nursing program. You must maintain good academic standing in your undergraduate nursing program, and you must be approved by your educational institution to participate in this program for credit.
