Temporary, full-time Instructor of Psychology
Jefferson Community College in beautiful Watertown, New York - part of the prestigious SUNY system - invites passionate educators to apply for a temporary, full-time Instructor of Psychology position. We are seeking an innovative teacher who thrives on making a real difference in students' academic journeys.
Jefferson Community College seeks a temporary, full-time Instructor of Psychology to teach in the Spring 2026 term. The successful candidate will teach 15 credits (5 sections) of Psychology courses to include four (4) sections of Introduction to Psychology and one section of either Social Psychology or Child and Adolescent Development, depending on candidate's area of expertise. Most of the sections will be in-person during the day. The faculty are expected to advance the College's focus on student success and completion and will work closely with the College's leadership to advance the mission of the current Strategic Plan.
Required: Master’s degree with at least three graduate courses in Psychology or a closely related field. In-person teaching experience in an educational setting.
Applicants must interact and communicate effectively with diverse populations, foster inclusion, and promote equal access and treatment for groups traditionally underrepresented in higher education.
Preferred : College teaching experience; master’s degree in psychology; experience in online teaching modalities and adaptability to engage students across all platforms.
The annual salary is $47,589, prorated for the one-semester appointment – Spring 2026. The College offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, vision, and dental insurance, long-term disability, generous leave policies, paid holidays, pre-tax flexible spending accounts, tax-deferred Compensation, NYS retirement, as well as employee and dependent tuition waivers. May qualify for public service loan forgiveness.
