DMF Lighting is a fast-growing leader in the lighting industry, always hard at work engineering what comes next.
We are looking for an entry-level experience mechanical engineer with knowledge of product design and qualification. The candidate will be an integral part of a close-knit and dynamic team with room to innovate, learn and grow rapidly.

Pay range is $70,000-$85,000 (based on skills/knowledge/experience).

Location: Carson, CA (onsite)

Responsibilities: 

• ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​ Design residential and commercial luminaires from concept to mass-manufacturing 
• Anticipate difficulties in production, installation, and usage of DMF products to ensure a flawless customer experience
• Qualify the products through our multi-step certification processes 
• Collaborate with point-people across departments and drive decision-making so that projects are pushed to completion 
• Model your designs around the basic principles of engineering to meet performance, reliability, cost and quality goals 

Minimum Qualifications 

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering 
• Ability to model 3D CAD and create 2D drawings 
• Hands-on experience with assembly and test of electromechanical products 
• Familiarity with thermal analysis of electromechanical systems 
• Familiarity with basic plastic and metal material properties 
• General knowledge of injection modling, die-casting, extrusion, and sheet metal processes 
• Excellent communication skills to both technical and non-technical audiences 

Preferred Skills and Experience 

• Experience with design for mid-to-high volume manufacturing from a previous internship, co-op, etc. 
• Familiarity with Solidworks 
• Knowledge of certification bodies and processes (UL, NEC, etc.)
